What I wore: Work out edition

I confess, I have not worn anything besides jeans and tee shirts this week, and because of that I decided to look back on some of my first 5k races and share what I wore.
Who ever said you can't look cute while working out is just jealous of those of us that can pull it off.
I think it is totally acceptable to look cute while dripping in sweat.
Here are some pictures from my first ever 5k.

I love looking at these pictures, I can still feel the excitement of that day.
I wore 2 tank tops from Old Navy
Yoga pants- Victoria's Secret
The best running shoes ever- Nike

On race day I wore a tank from Gap Outlet and Under Armor running shorts from Dick's

At the finish line! And that was not my time! I didn't do great but I definitely didn't do that bad! haha!
Thanks mom for the action shot! Haha! See me on the left?

This was for the Red Leg run, it ended on the Reds field.

I wore a Reds shirt and yoga pants both from Victoria's Secret.

The Color run! I wore a tank top from Wal-Mart
Shorts from a thrift store
knee high socks from Wal-Mart

Have you ever used allrecipes.com? It is a great site for finding recipes!
I made this braised balsamic chicken awhile back when we had a dinner guest, it was yummy so I decided to make it again!

It is pretty simple but it looks like it was hard to make (perfect for impressing your dinner guests haha).

Yum.. Chicken and onions with a little bit of garlic salt

Balsamic vinegar
Yum!

Here is the recipe

Weekend Recap

Hello, I am a little late on posting today, but I didn't have access to my laptop until now.
I hope y'all had a great weekend!
I had a very busy weekend!
Friday and Saturday I had a yard sale! I was so happy to get rid of some junk and make a little extra cash, I made about $60 both days, not bad considering I was just selling a bunch of junk I don't use any more! haha!

Saturday after the yard sale Jason's siblings and mom came over to visit
Jason and his siblings.

I had a nice weekend, but it was very busy and exhausting!

I love Fridays!

Oh Friday, I love you so much.
I have to start my Friday Favorites list with my favorite evening activity.
Last night Jason and I went out to dinner and just spent the evening watching TV and relaxing, I love the simplicity of those kind of nights.

Now on to more of my favorite things this week..
I love these DIY home improvements

We have a weird thing in our entry and I want to do something like these pictures

Cheesy White Enchiladas

Thank you Pinterest.
You always know how to come through when I need you.
I was making my meal plan for the week and came across this recipe on Pinterest

The night I made these I didn't get home until after 7 and Jason would be home about an hour later.
Well.. I didn't have any thawed chicken.. let alone cooked chicken!
I had to thaw, cook and shred the chicken before I could even start the recipe!
Long story short it was after 9pm before we ate dinner :(
I also decided to make some rice to go with it.
I cooked some rice and just added some salsa.. It was actually quite delicious!
I was in such a hurry to cook this meal that I didn't get any pictures of the process.. Here is the only picture I got.. It tasted a lot better than it looks haha

Here are her instructions:

10 soft taco shells
2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
3 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. flour
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup sour cream
1 (4 oz) can diced green chilies

1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease a 9x13 pan
2. Mix chicken and 1 cup cheese.  Roll up in tortillas and place in pan.
3. In a sauce pan, melt butter, stir in flour and cook 1 minute.  Add broth and whisk until smooth.  Heat over medium heat until thick and bubbly.
4. Stir in sour cream and chilies.  Do not bring to boil, you don't want curdled sour cream.
5. Pour over enchiladas and top with remaining cheese.
6. Bake 22 min and then under high broil for 3 min to brown the cheese

I did make a few changes.
I used whole wheat tortillas, cheddar cheese, and replaced the sour cream with Greek yogurt.
Emjoy!

Giddy up cowgirl

Another Wednesday, another what I wore post!
I absolutely love Wednesdays, I love that we are half way through the week and I love the fact that there are so many blog link ups aka ways to make new blog friends!
Well, here are my favorite only real outfits I wore this week.

I love my backyard and all the pretty trees!

Hubby always catches my silly poses

Love this part of the shirt!!!

Shirt- Wal-Mart!! Does it look familiar? Maybe you have seen it here.
I bet you can't wait to see the third color I got ;)
Jeans- American Eagle
Boots- Where else but Nashville!?

I also had to include this outfit because I just love the bright colors!

Sorry about the mirror pics and the tired face.. You can see this outfit and action and understand why I looked so tired here.

Shirt- WAIT FOR IT!!!
WAL-MART!!! Only $3!
Cardigan- Gap Outlet
Jeans-American Eagle
I didn't wear any shoes, because I don't like to wear shoes and because I was in my house so why would I?

I think I get more excited about a $3 shirt from Wal-Mart than I would a $50 designer shirt.. Anyone else with me??

Ericka's Questions For Me:
1.  Do you have any pets?  What kind?  Names?
I don't, but my parents have family pets, 2 dogs.
Missy, a mutt and I picked her out when I was in the 6th grade.
Ella, a spoiled full breed Chihuahua.

Fall! I love the weather, a perfect mix of warm and cold.
Fall also means pumpkin spice and apple cider!

3.  What is your favorite drink?  Alcohol or not, doesn't matter.
Hmm.. Probably pink lemonade.. I mostly drink water but sometimes I need something with flavor and pink lemonade is my go to drink!

4.  Why did you start blogging?
I started this blog as a fitness blog, I had love 15 pounds in one month and everyone was asking what I was doing to lose the weight. I started this blog as a way to show everyone how I was losing the weight and to motivate others.
In August I decided I wanted to go in another direction, I wanted to blog about more than just fitness, I wanted to write about my life.
My blog is now a lifestyle blog with hints of healthy recipes and fitness tips.

5.  What is your dream job?
Be a stay at home mommy!
I know this sounds lame but that would be the best job in the world.
I have looked forward to being a stay at home mom my whole life.

6.  If you could only clothes shop at one store for the rest of your life, which store would it be?
Wow.. I have no idea! I basically just shop where ever I can find cute clothes at a discount.
Maybe the Gap outlet, it is cheap and they always have a ton of options.

7.  Starting with the oldest photo on your phone, what is the 7th picture?
This picture of me and my best friend, Rachel.
This picture was taken over 2 years ago at her baby shower.

8.  What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Chocolate with chocolate covered in chocolate!
Haha! The more chocolate the better!

9.  What is your "go-to" outfit?
Hmm.. Besides jeans and a tee shirt?
During the cold weather I would say its Jeans with a solid color tee shirt, a scarf, cardigan and boots, you can never go wrong with that!

10.  What is something not many people know about you?
I used to be epileptic (I had seizures), I had my first seizure when I was 3 and had to take pills twice a day for the next 12 years. I Miraculously grew out of it when I hit puberty and have not had any seizures since, Praise God!

My Questions for you:
1. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
2. What is your favorite meal?
